We are thrilled to welcome Robbie Berg of Phoenix Rising Creates to the Handmade Collective - and the story behind this presenter and her work is one of the most extraordinary we have ever shared.

Who Is Robbie Berg?

Phoenix Rising Creates is the creative home of Robbie Berg, a maker whose journey spans over 25 years - rooted in the tactile world of fiber and expanding into the structural soul of reclaimed wood.

Robbie started sewing at age ten as a traditional sewist and has since transformed into a full art quilter through the study of over 200 specialized techniques - from thread painting to silk dyeing. Her current work explores the intersection of soft and hard mediums: fabric that mimics a watercolor sunset, and wine barrels reclaimed into functional furniture.

Her creative philosophy? Finish with the same ten fingers she started with, and a piece of art that honors the history of its materials.

You will see how Robbie:

Develops a quilt concept from inspiration to finished piece
Uses vintage postcards, fabric selection, tracing techniques, applique, quilting, and mixed-media fiber art methods
Sources vintage imagery and incorporates personal travel photographs into the work
Constructs fully mailable fabric postcards using traditional quilting techniques - handmade quilted postcards that are actually designed to be sent through the mail
