Scrappy, Fun, and Full of Personality: Quilting with Sister Chicks Quilting

If quilting had a sense of humor, it would sound a lot like Di Cluff. Known for her warm personality and fun approach to teaching, Di is the creative force behind the popular YouTube channel Sister Chicks Quilting, where she shares everything from traditional techniques to modern twists—always with a laugh along the way.

“I’ve been sewing since I was 13, but quilting? That passion started in 2010,” Di says. Today, she and her daughter run a thriving longarm quilting business appropriately named Sister Chicks Quilting serving customers across the U.S. and Canada. But when the pressure of points and perfect seams gets overwhelming, Di turns to her true love: scrappy quilting.

“I even buy 12-inch pieces of fabric just to add to my scrap pile,” she admits. “Because there’s never enough scrap fabric!” For Di, scrappy quilting isn’t just about using leftovers—it’s about freedom. “You toss the rules out the window and just sew. It’s relaxing, it’s fun, and it reminds you why you started quilting in the first place.”
