Scrap Fabric Magic: Cosplay, Quilting & Sewing Tips from Maker Mary Beth Temple

Hi there,
My name is Mary Beth Temple and I am an avid knitter, crocheter and sewist – primarily craft and garment sewing. I especially love to make cosplays although I don’t currently have any young adult models nearby to wear my creations!

Here are two of my favorite cosplays – Azula and Katara from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Both were built by me from original patterns I drafted.

Recently I have been very interested in designing projects using up my mountain of scrap fabrics. If you have been sewing for a while I am sure you too got mask requests in early 2020 – and I have SO many leftovers from that time period in lovely pre-washed cottons.
Here are two projects from the blog:
| Fabric Scrap Letter Keychains | Heart Appliqué Kitchen Towel |
There is a free heart template download available on the kitchen towel blog post!
My favorite Cutterpillar product right now is the Flip and Fold 48. When I moved back to New Jersey after a brief sojourn in the Midwest the square footage of my studio went way down.

I mostly cut fabric now on my small kitchen island; with the Flip and Fold I can quickly completely cover the island to cut fabric, and when I am no longer cutting and fold it up it takes up very little of my precious space!

Please check out my blog: MBT Creates and from there you can click links to follow me on YouTube (where I am most active), Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. You can also sign up for my newsletter there, choose yarn crafts, sewing, or both.
Thanks for reading and I hope to see you soon! MBT
