Our 2024 Utah Quilt Guild Show Adventure
We did the Utah Quilt Guild show last week, and what a time we had! Don't believe us, the dancing speaks for itself!
If you've followed us at all you'll know we love attending quilting and crafting shows, but there's something extra special for us about doing it in Utah- it just so happens to be our home turf. Would anyone disagree that Utah is one of the most beautiful places in the world? Between the stunning landscapes and the incredible community, it’s hard not to feel proud and we're lucky to call it home.
First, let’s talk about the Utah Quilt Guild show. If you’ve never been, it’s a total blast. The Utah Quilt Guild knows how to put on a show! Quilters from all over the state—and beyond—gather to share their love for quilting, swap tips and tricks, and show off some seriously impressive work. This year we felt like the quilts were even more breathtaking than usual. From traditional designs to modern twists, the creativity was off the charts, and we were completely in awe.
We had a blast showing off our latest products (most notably the brand new Flip and Fold 48) and chatting with everyone who stopped by our booth. We even got to meet some of our long-time customers in person, which was awesome. Seeing the enthusiasm people have for our products is one of the best parts of our job. We’re passionate about creating high-quality quilting tools and supplies that make the craft even more enjoyable, so it’s always rewarding to hear that people love what we do.
At CutterPillar, we’ve always had a soft spot for the guild shows. They’re a great chance to connect with other quilting enthusiasts and get inspired by all the amazing talent out there. Plus, it’s just plain fun. There’s nothing like chatting with fellow quilters, hearing their stories, and seeing the incredible projects they’re working on. We love being part of a community that’s so passionate and dedicated to the craft.
Being based in Utah, we feel a special connection to the Utah Quilt Guild and the local quilting community. Utah has a rich quilting tradition, and it’s something we’re proud to be a part of. People here put their hearts into their work, but they also know how to have a good time. That balance between dedication and fun is something we really admire and try to embody in everything we do at CutterPillar. Speaking of a good time, if you missed it in the video above, here's how the dancing happened!
We can't write this and not take a moment to really appreciate just how gorgeous this state is. Whether it’s the towering red rocks of Arches National Park, the snow-capped peaks of the Wasatch Range, or the otherworldly landscapes of Bryce Canyon, Utah is a visual feast. We’re so lucky to call this place home, and we love showing off our Utah pride whenever we can. Every time we attend a local event like the Utah Quilt Guild show, it’s a chance to celebrate not just quilting, but the incredible state we live in.
And let’s not forget the people! The folks here in Utah are some of the friendliest, most welcoming people you’ll ever meet. There’s a real sense of community, and it’s one of the things that makes attending events like the Utah Quilt Guild show such a joy. Whether you’re a seasoned quilter or just getting started, you’ll find plenty of support and encouragement from fellow quilters. It’s like one big, happy quilting family.
Of course, we couldn’t resist doing a little shopping ourselves. There were so many incredible vendors at the show, offering everything from fabrics to patterns to tools. It’s like a quilter’s paradise! We definitely came away with some new goodies to add to our collection.
As much as we love traveling to quilting shows around the country, there’s something extra special about attending one right here in Utah. It feels like coming home, even though we never really left. We’re grateful to be part of such a vibrant, creative community.
So, here’s to Utah, quilting, and all the wonderful people who make this craft so special. We can’t wait to see what the future holds, and we’re excited to keep creating, sharing, and celebrating with all of you. Happy quilting!
