Maker Minute - Meet Brandy
Hey there, and welcome to my little corner of the quilting universe. I’m Brandy, the hands (and heart) behind 100proofquilter. If you’re into bold quilts, real talk, and a little chaos in between stitches, you’ve found your people.
So, who am I?
I’m a lifelong maker with a soft spot for strong coffee, strong and strong seams. My quilting journey started like many — with a simple project and no idea what I was doing. Fast-forward a few years, and now I run 100Proofquilter across Instagram, YouTube, and beyond — showing up with pattern hacks, tool reviews, honest messes, and creative wins (and fails, because let’s be real).
Why100ProofQuilter?
Well, here’s the fun part, it’s a nod to my name, Brandy. Just like the liquor, I bring a bold kick to everything I do. “100 proof” means undiluted, strong, and full of character, and that’s exactly how I show up in my creative life. No watered-down inspiration here. Just the real stuff honest, a little fiery, and stitched with heart.
What do I do?
I teach, I share, I test the tools, I cut the fabric, and I occasionally swear at my sewing machine. My content is part tutorial, part inspiration, and all grounded in keeping it real. Whether you're brand new to quilting or deep into your stash life, I'm here to help you feel seen, laugh a little, and maybe try something new.
I also collaborate with brands I genuinely use and love from rotary cutters to embroidery gear to my beloved Cutterpillar Glow so if I talk about it, it's because it earned a spot in my studio.
It’s not just another light board, it’s the board that helps me line up seams, trace designs, and see the little details that make a big difference. I use it for everything from fussy cutting to applique prep to late-night fabric auditions when I should probably be sleeping.
At the end of the day, quilting for me is about more than fabric and thread, it’s about showing up as yourself, flaws, tangles, coffee stains, and all. Creativity isn’t meant to be perfect; it’s meant to be honest. If my corner of chaos inspires you to pick up a new tool, try a bold pattern, or simply laugh at a crooked seam, then I’ve done my job.
