Most makers teach one craft. Shon Amacker teaches an entire toolkit, from AI to embroidery machines, and makes all of it feel approachable. She's joining The Handmade Collective this September to bring that rare mix of tech and creativity to our community.
Who Is Shon Amacker?
Shon is a dynamic instructor, cybersecurity executive, award-winning creative entrepreneur, and owner of Geaux Savvy Designs. With more than 20 years of experience across technology, education, innovation, sewing, embroidery, quilting, and creative making, Shon has built a reputation for making complicated things simple, approachable, and fun.
Her unique ability to bridge technology and creativity lets her teach everything from AI and cybersecurity to machine embroidery, quilting, bag making, laser crafting, and modern maker technology. Through hands-on classes, workshops, retreats, product demonstrations, and her popular Sunday Funday YouTube Live sessions, Shon helps makers build skills, confidence, and the courage to try something new.
Shon is a Shannon Fabrics Ambassador, AccuQuilt GO! Guru, xTool affiliate and xToolSquad member, and a Kimberbell Certified Online Shop owner and educator. She works with a growing collection of respected sewing and maker brands, including CutterPillar, SewTites, Sallie Tomato, Linda's of McKinney, Simply Classic Bag Making Supplies, and Midway Wool.
Her creative work has earned recognition too, including an Honorable Mention Ribbon in the 2026 Texas State Creative Competition for handbag craftsmanship, and the 2024 Distinguished 10 Innovation Award from Grambling State University for her leadership and innovation beyond the maker community.
